This trip which goal was both to recover from Fanny Osbourne's decision to depart to America and also to discover the land of the Protestant Camisards...

During his walk, he wrote a diary which would later become a book entitled "Travel with a donkey in the Cevennes".
Thanks to this book it was possible to trace his route which has since become the Stevenson Trail or GR70. 

This hiking trail enables hikers to follow the foosteps of the writer from Monastier sur Gazeille (or Le Puy en Velay) to Saint Jean du Gard, discover our self-guided hiking holidays.
